Transportation Alexandria/Pineville is connected to Interstate-10 in Lafayette and Interstate-20 in Shreveport via Interstate-49. There are also multiple 4-lane highways that connect the area in all directions making getting to and from here extremely easy. Alexandria International Airport, located at England Airpark, provides a world class air facility capable of handling 747 class aircraft. AEX has commercial passenger jet-service with American, Delta and Continental Airlines connections to Houston, Dallas, and Atlanta. For more information you can go to www.aexairport.org. There are several rental car agencies that operate locally. Alamo, Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz and National all have local offices in Alexandria and/or Pineville or at the airport. The City of Alexandria provides local bus service via its A-Trans Bus Service. Routes and schedules for A-Trans can be seen at www.cityofalexandriala.com. Out of town bus service is provided by Greyhound Bus Lines. There are also a number of local private cab companies that provide service to the area as well limousine services too.
